RE: How to overcome if you breath with mouth and nose same time when wear mask
I noticed in the charts you posted for your mom that she is using the Autoset For Her. Is this the mode your mom is using or the standard mode?

Sleepyhead say mode is "Autoset for Her"
I like SleepRiders suggestion setting of 8-20 I see the max is just under 15. Th start at 5 is likly too low for her.

The minimum setting of 5cm for a full face mask seems low. She may be feeling “air starved” and that alone could be what’s waking her. We can tell a lot by looking at her data.

Is it possible she is small enough that the doctor is using a pediatric type setting? And, if so, does this change the expert recommendations for the lower setting?
It would be best to keep the posts and especially the charts in one thread so that the knowledgeable members have all of the information when advising you.
Best wishes for your mother, and for you too. I know it can be difficult to be in your position as helper/caretaker.
(by the way, breathing through the mouth and nose simultaneously is not difficult or unusual)
thank you.
she is 5 feet, 131 lb.
Her complaint is when breath both, the air inside mask with limited space disturb her. I don't know how bad is that.

Although I’m not big on leaving pressure wide open like a 5 to 20, it’s clear that she needs to be higher than 10 max as she’s bumping up against that pressure most of the night, which makes it hard for the machine to treat the obstructives.
Also the minimum pressure is set too low. If her doctor is unable to adjust properly, then you may need to take control and do it yourself. Order the Clinicians manual if you don’t already have it. Link at top of page.
Raise the minimum pressure to be more in line with her median pressure on the SleepyHead graphs, and open up the max pressure at least 14 or 15. That should help clear up the Obstructives.
Good luck.

Yes it is Autoset For her, auto mode. that's why when I called the sleepresfully vendor, they said the machine will determine that for her, I don't need to change. Until recently i started make change to help her adjust use the mask.

It’s hard to know what your mom is feeling. Do you think she feels claustrophobic with the full face mask?
One thing to try is have her use the machine and mask while sitting up, watching TV for an hour before bed. Many of us have tried this when first starting out, just to get used to the feel of the mask and the air pressure.

She has onset insomnia, take her 1- 2 hour to be able to fall into sleep, So she said when she start feeling like sleep, then air is disturbing her. Without cpap, she woke every few hours. With mask on, she can't use it whole night, max 4 hours now with sometime are awaken.
RE: How to overcome if you breath with mouth and nose same time when wear mask
when the pressure go up, will it come down when AHI come down during the night? thanks
RE: How to overcome if you breath with mouth and nose same time when wear mask
Going back and forth reading between the two threads, and knowing that she is using the “for her” mode may not work that well for her if she needs a higher maximum pressure.
The “for her” mode doesn’t respond to apnea events past 12cm. But the pressure can continue to rise past 12 in response to Flow Limitations and snores. That is why you noticed it went up to 14 on a couple graphs. I think this was discussed in the other thread.
If you are more comfortable discussing with her doctor, ask if she would do better with the regular Auto mode instead of the “for her” mode.
