RE: How to overcome if you breath with mouth and nose same time when wear mask
One other thought. If your mom can't tolerate the cervical collar, you might want to consider a therapedic contour style pillow. I have used one for a long time because I have arthritis issues with my neck. Just my opinion based on personal use, but I feel this type of pillow gives my head and neck better support, and keeps my head/neck from kinking in my sleep. It has one side that has a larger hump for the neck and the other side has less of a hump. The idea is to use the side that works best for you. I sleep with the side that has the larger hump under my neck, like the lady in the image below. My pillow is made of memory foam and feels quite hard at first, but it contours to your neck and head, and kind of locks you in position. I have tried the gel types of the same shape but find they are hot. I found one at Bed Bath & Beyond for $40. If you google it you should find it. But they are quite common with various brand names, and many stores should have them.
This type of pillow may have a similar effect to wearing a cervical collar, but that is just an opinion. I have never tried the cervical collar and think it probably would double up on what my pillow is doing already and could be quite uncomfortable to do both...

I hope you find the right solutions for your mom.
Hi Opal,
I search amazon: Trunki Yondi Travel Pillow, Pink, Small. looks like size is smaller than the one i bought, the only thing is it said maximum neck size 11.8". Also there are magnetic at the end. Do you think the size and magnetic will be issue .

You measured over 13" for neck size, so that collar wouldn't work. The collar should be a few inches longer than neck circumference so that it can be adjusted and not feel too tight.

but this is kid pillow, can leave some gap behind neck is it? Maybe i didn't understand correctly. As last night i bought the pillow in store (measure 9 inch widest left to right , 8.5 inch top to bottom) but can't stay tight under neck.
The pillow is slip in from front to back (opening at the behind of the neck) when wear to sleep, is it correct? The opposite of usual normal way. Do i misunderstood?
i try to order collar and pillow to see which works better.

Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you were reconsidering buying a cervical collar.
The kid pillow will leave a gap behind the neck, and yes, you wear it opposite of how you would normally wear it.
My pillow is only 3 inches high, just enough to tuck under my chin.

Hi Crimson,
I am trying to use something acceptable by my mom to use when sleep to prevent chin tucking for the high OA events. What dose "fit the back of the neck" mean?
