I think I may have the wrong PAP machine
I have complex sleep apnea diagnosed with a sleep study in 2013. I have had 3 machines in that time Resmed S9 VPAP Auto, Resmed S9 Adapt ASV and 6 years ago a Resmed 10 ST-A. I am due for another machine now and my doctor wants to just replace the 10-ST-A with another one. I am staying below AHI of 5 about 95% of the time but think that a Resmed 10 or 11 ASV may be more appropriate for me as the ST-A appears to be a specialized machine for specific problems. What should I be looking at to figure out the best machine? Do I need another sleep study (I really can't sleep at all when I go in the lab)? Is there anything in Oscar data that would help be find out best machine?

RE: I think I may have the wrong PAP machine
OSCAR charts can help some.
So, it's only Central Apnea treatment that's your special need regarding Apnea? Any lung conditions at all? You may want to request a new lab sleep study or Titration including ASV. That basic difference between ASV and ST-A, I'll not mention specific settings, just the basic fact. ASV is mainly for Central Apnea treatment, typically not for those only with treatment emergent CA. (Not yours it seems, this sounds like you have predominant CA in some form) ST-A is a small ventilator class machine for lung disease and for what I'll call respiratory dysfunction. This is what I should have due to COPD, but I'm the super complicated case with Complex Apnea too. Yay.

You may want to ask your doctor to set up an echocardiogram to determine your “ejection fraction” to rule out any contraindications for using an ASV device.
