If you have a min of 5 like you do then the most the EPR can subtract is 1 because 4 is the lowest any cpap machine can go. So if you had EPR 2 and min 5 you really got EPR = to 1 because again the lowest any cpap machine can go is 4.

RE: New User - Early Side Effects? Pressure Related?
All EPR does is lower your exhale pressure. If you have the min pressure set at 8 the exhale pressure is (min 8 - EPR 3) gives you an exhale pressure of 5 which would make breathing easier. The EPR was designed to help with higher min pressures to make the exhale easier. The EPR was also found to help Flow Limits which yours is high and would help with them.

Tried the settings last night, and just woke up feeling so much better!
As luck would have it, I left my SD card in my PC.... Will continue with the same settings and hopefully produce similar results. AHI dropped to 0.60! Thank you Stacey, that was a great recommendation!

Hi All -
Attaching an update from last night. The first night i tried these settings, AHI was very low but feel like this is more accurate as I slept for a much longer duration. Looks like there was a major uptick in centrals last night and AHI was up as a result, any suggestion? Thank you in advance.

The increase in apnea is mostly ar the beginning of sleep/wake cycle and the last hour of sleep, approximately between 4:40 and 5:40. Notice the apnea is in clumps? This is indicative of Positional Apnea. You may have gotten yourself into a position like chin tucking that would restrict air flow. You probably could consider any apnea that appears near morning like that as Sleep Wake Junk.
Wiki Definition: Sleep-Wake-Junk - Clusters of apnea and hypopnea events concentrated mainly around periods of sleep-wake transition. In general Sleep-wake-junk (SWJ) is not regarded as "real" since they do not occur during periods of sleep, but may be during semi-awake periods or "dozing". Example of SWJ I don't think the CA's are an issue, but good to keep an eye on them. If they persist, lower the EPR to 2.

Thank you Opal Rose!
I appreciate all of the help. I will try these out again and see what happens with the CAs. Glad to see that this might mostly be SWJ |
