RE: Inline Filter
I am a microbiologist and have had years of experience with sterilizing filters. this filter is a membrane filter and is probably effective for sterilization. I say probably because the description does not include the filter material or nominal pore size. Sterilizing filters employed in the sterile pharmaceutical industry for filtering air have a nominal pore size of 0.2 microns. A problem with this type of filter for air is that it will become completely blocked if wetted and prevent the passage of air. For that reason I would not recommend the use of the filter downstream of the water chamber.

Also, I don't see any value to the use of such a filter. The air supplied by your machine has the same bacterial content as the air in your home that you breathe during your waking hours. Depending on your pressure settings it is compressed slightly but at most only 1-2%.

Thanks for your reply and explanation. I too, was wondering if such a filter would be worth while? Now I no longer wonder.

Thanks

Thanks for your reply. I currently use this, lay it down on its side and within an inch or two of the intake.
