Installing latest OSCAR on an old Windows PC

Installing latest OSCAR on an old Windows PC
I have a 10 year old PC running Windows 10. I currently have the 32 bit OSCAR installed and running just fine.

Today I tried to upgrade to the latest OSCAR (32 bit) and it would not even download. I then tried the 64 bit version and it downloaded but would not install. I am pretty sure the processor cannot handle the 64 bit version but I thought it should let me upgrade to the latest 32 bit version.
CPAP is a journey like “The Wizard of Oz”. It’s a long slow journey. You will face many problems and pick up many friends along the way. Just because you reach the poppies, it doesn’t mean you are in Kansas.

What happened when you tried to download the 32-bit OSCAR? I just downloaded the 32-bit version without any problems.

Rcgop,

Do you use any type of AV software on your older box?

And what browser are you using when it won't d/l the 32 bit version?  Any extensions installed?

Notice what to choose witch version (32 or 64 bit), you have to suit the OS version.
32 bit CPU --> 32 bit OS --> Oscar 32 bit
64 bit CPU --> 32 bit OS --> Oscar 32 bit
64 bit CPU --> 64 bit OS --> Oscar 64 bit (or Oscar 32 bit ?)

First, make sure that you have available storage on your hard drive.   On the off-chance that it is some type of security problem, I have placed a copy on my Google Drive.  Since Google Drive does not like you to store executable files, I renamed the suffix to, ".xex",  You will need to rename it back to ".exe" after you download it for it to work properly.

More details.
Currently running:
OSCAR 1.1.0

Windows 10 Pro

64 bit CPU 32 bit operating system

Unsure of any virus software. Non that I know about but there is probably something scanning for viruses.

I can download the 64 bit file. Yes, I know that is the wrong file but it does download the exe file.

When attempting to download the 32 bit file I get:
“OSCAR 1.4.0 Win32.exe isn’t commonly downloaded. Make sure you trust OSCAR-1.4.0-Win32.exe before you open it.”
The download stops and I can find the following file in the download folder.
“Unconfirmed996787.crdownload”.

Try turning off your Antivirus software prior to download.

Could not find where to turn off virus protection but the linked worked, Thanks. Got lots of warnings but ignored them like I knew what I was doing.

Curious, wonder why I could the 64 bit version but not the 32 bit version.

All is well, Thanks again.
