I see this thread is a few months old. I am just reading it now to get some background on your current thread.
You asked if anyone has benefited from lifestyle changes. I for one have benefited greatly from changes that I've made. I don't tolerate xPAP therapy that well so it helps keep motivated.
There are many studies showing that losing weight reduces the severity of OSA in the majority of people that are overweight.
They have also shown that cardio style exercise reduces the severity of OSA.
And, to top it off, tongue and throat exercises reduce OSA as well.
I have used the three lifestyle interventions over the last three years with very good results.
