Is it worth going to sleep clinic?
I think I may have sleep apnea. Is it worth going to a sleep clinic and get tested?

RE: Is it worth going to sleep clinic?
My nurse practitioner ordered me a home sleep test. I had to meet some folks at an office who showed me how to do the test, went home, hooked it up, slept with it, and returned the equipment to them to assess. That worked fine for me. My husband's doctor sent him to a hospital to do an attended sleep test there. He hated it because he was hooked up to lots more equipment and had people bugging him all night, but he got his results quickly too. Mine was much more comfortable but maybe his was better. I don't know.

RE: Is it worth going to sleep clinic?
For my wife and I, all of our studies have been at a sleep center. We both feel we got better results with the center study than if it had been a home study. On the other hand, a lot determines on what your insurance will cover. If you don't have insurance, then a home study may be the most cost effective.
