Just venting.

Just venting.
I am three nights into recovery from a major shoulder operation. Having the use of one arm only means my wife has to help me into CPAP mode at bed time. My  nightly ritual is now a nightmare Dielaughing  Getting my chinstrap and mask on is a battle of wills,  and as I wake earlier than my wife I have to wake her up to help me take it all back off. Oh well, only six more weeks to go. Too-funny

Six weeks??!?!   Yikes!  My wife had an RC repair six years ago and she only needed to be 'restrained' for four weeks.  Maybe yours is more extensive.

So, do you and the missus shower together these days?  Wink

You haven't figured out how to one-hand the mask? Start practicing, this is going to get old.

Another reason to use the Resmed P10 nasal pillows mask...besides a big nose, you can DIY, with one arm tied behind your back.

Really learn to do it one handed. As it is, I'd hate to see her bill for so far.  Too-funny

FWIW my left shoulder scope recovery (in sling) was 4 weeks I think. It still hurts almost as bad as before the cleanup from 2 years ago. Worse, I'm a lefty. The good news? I use my right hand to handle the coffee cup typically.

The repair was pretty extensive, so the six weeks is a no driving time. Stitches out in ten days and then rehab starts. I use an Eson nasal mask, that I am very happy with thanks, so no need to alter what I have. Just need to adapt. It will get better I am sure. Bigwink

It would not do any good with a bung shoulder.  Showers are very business like at the moment. Dielaughing

Hi James, what did you do to cause so much damage?  Fall off a motorcycle?   Thinking-about
I am NOT a doctor.  I try to help, but do not take what I say as medical advice.

It all started playing rugby at school when I was fifteen, I am sixty one now. I initially dislocated the shoulder and fractured the ball off the arm bone. So lots of tendon damage then. It healed over time and I have done lots of crazy things since, including racing motorbikes. Age has caught up and it all gave way. It is not my drinking arm, thank goodness. I will recover well enough, however slowly though. Life still has to be enjoyed, so I can't wait to start rehab in a couple of weeks. Dancing

The "practice" thought is a good one... I'm eventually going to have shoulder problems from my water skiing days when I was younger, they already give me severe pain some nights, and operations on both shoulders are inevitable.

I probably should start my practice sessions of getting my mask on and off now, before I have to ask my wife.... she would be more likely to want to "fit" a pillow to my face I think.  Thinking-about
Laugh-a-lot Laugh-a-lot

Not sure how I'd get my F&P Eson nose mask on, but I will figure something out..  Smile
