However, my leak rate graph is still up there. I not sure I know how to interpret all of Oscar's data.
If someone could take a look at my screen shots, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you,
Jim

RE: Help with bad leaks
I brought out my back-up cpap and with similar settings, same mask, but different hose and I have no large leaks??? It must be a problem with my Airsense 10, or hose (which held pressure when I blocked one end and blew through).
However, my leak rate graph is still up there. I not sure I know how to interpret all of Oscar's data. If someone could take a look at my screen shots, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Jim

RE: Help with bad leaks
Your earlier charts look like mouth leaks, so I don’t think a machine different would matter much. It could be a hose or water chamber seating problem, just something to check.
My philosophy with leaks is if the bursty leaks are not >= 24 l/min and they are not waking me up, I don’t worry about them much. I have a fairly full beard and use a full-face mask, which gives me a steady small leak. My leaks run a median of about 3 l/min with the peak being around 11 l/min. It doesn’t wake me up, so I don’t think about it. If I use nasal pillows I have almost zero leaks, but I find the full-face mask more comfortable, so just ignore the leaks. Do you have any specific complaints other than the leaks?
RE: Help with bad leaks
Thank you PLAP.
About 3 weeks ago I started having very large leaks and I have tried full face, nasal, several different pillow types, and tape and the leaks were still 40 l/min to 60 l/min. Last night I tried my other CPAP and there were no large leaks or is this machine just not flagging them the same??? I can't say that these leaks are disturbing my sleep more, but I don't sleep very well and wake up many times a night. Every few weeks/months I start breathing through my mouth and I wake gasping, but this isn't happening this time and I have never had this kind of a leak report. But using tape for a few days corrects the mouth breathing. I'm just trying to figure out what happened and how to correct it. Thanks, Jim |
