Length of Time ? [pulmonary hypertension decrease]
Ive been using my C-Pap for several months. I have pulmonary hypertension that shows on echocardiograms. My doctor said that it is from apnea. Ive read where C-Pap usage helps this but does anyone have experience as to how long it takes to see a reduction in numbers? Thank you.

RE: Length of Time ?
I had pulmonary hypertension at one time. It took more than CPAP to fix the problem though. I had to stop smoking and lose weight before the problem was fixed. I know two things that can help you. Eat a low sodium diet and exercise. Just about all cardiologist recommend those two things. Sodium causes high blood pressure. Exercise improves the heart function and reduces stress.
Though CPAP helps a lot it's not always the only thing needed.

Also, as applicable, stop smoking and reducing caffeine may be suggested.

Post a chart of your #SleepyHead data and we can take a look. Be sure to keep in contact with your doctor for treatment of your pulmonary hypertension. As others have stated, and I’ve found out myself....cut back on sodium. Sometimes it’s hard to diet, excercise and get used to Cpap therapy all at once, so take it slow. Read food labels for sodium content, and start to make better food choices.
