RE: Long Machine use Sleeping Hours?
Follow this link on Organizing your chart.
http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php...ganization We do need to see the left sidebar in its entirety, minus the calendar. Graphs included should be: Events, Flow Rate, Pressure, Leak rate and Flow Limitations. The Higher trigger setting shouldn't cause you any discomfort, but if it feels uncomfortable, change it to High instead of Very High. I'm hoping to see a decrease in CA's, but comfort always comes first.

Good morning OpalRose!
I don't know if you got my message to you late yesterday about not being able to add (3) attachments to your replies... Under Attachments I browse and select file 1 it attaches but when I try to add file 2 it replaces file 1 and when I add file 3 it replaces file 2. ??? Do you have to hit the "add attachment" every time you pull one into the reply? Anyway, I really didn't notice much difference but it seemed a little more easier to breath in and out. The "Pie Chart Info" looks not as complex last night. These screen shots are of last nights session (Saturday, November 2nd 2024) with the new setting on Trigger set to very high..... see what you think. I thank you for your time! Reesche

RE: Long Machine use Sleeping Hours?
Your numbers look much better. CA's came down with Trigger set to very high. And as long as you felt comfortable with it, leave it at that setting. If at any time, you find it harder to breathe, move the Trigger back to High.
You do have some Positional Apnea. Notice the clumps of Obstructives around 7:45. This indicates that you are sleeping in a way that is cutting off your air. This can happen if on side or back. Usually on your back and if using a high pillow, this can cause your head to tilt forward into your chest which cuts off your air, like a kink in a hose. It isn't excessive and only occurred once, but just be aware. You can read more about Positional Apnea here: https://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph...onal_Apnea Your latest chart is a little hard to read and is a bit blurry. Be sure you are using the F12 key to take a Screenshot. Set your display to the Standard view. (View > Reset Graphs > Standard) Take a screenshot of your Daily screen. * For Windows or Linux: Use the F12 key * For a Mac: Use Fn+F12 Layout of your chart is important. Follow the link in my signature line on Chart organization, and set up your charts accordingly. We prefer to see the following graphs: Events, Flow Rate, Pressure, Flow Limitation and Leak Rate. If we need to see more, we will ask, so for now, leave out the other graphs.

RE: Long Machine use Sleeping Hours?
Thanks for getting back to me!
I have made some changes in my Oscar.... Got rid of some graphs and calendars and made sure you get the 5 graphs you stated. If I take a screen shot of my desktop/Oscar it comes in at: In Photoshop: Width: 26.667" X Height: 15" @ 72ppi Size: 5.93M. Is this correct? Do I send this entire file at the above resolution? Or do I resize the file. I will send you another set from Oscar after tonights sleep.... Thank you again! Reesche

RE: Long Machine use Sleeping Hours?
Once your chart is set up the way you want, just use the F12 key (Fn+F12 if using a Mac) to take a screenshot of the chart.
You shouldn't have to resize anything if you follow these directions. Set your display to the Standard view. (View > Reset Graphs > Standard) Take a screenshot of your Daily screen. * For Windows or Linux: Use the F12 key * For a Mac: Use Fn+F12 http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php...ganization

RE: Long Machine use Sleeping Hours?
OpalRose..... Just finished another good night... Below you will find the screen shot of my numbers. In Photoshop: Width: 26.667" X Height: 15" @ 72ppi Size: 5.93M
I saw that you do not need the AHI graph..... I really like the graphic representation showing how the low areas are good and the climbing buildings indicate something going on. Let me know how I'm doing now.... Reesche

RE: Long Machine use Sleeping Hours?
I would like to see less Obstructives. It looks like mostly a Positional issue from 6:40 on.
Can you tell me what position you sleep? What type pillow you use? Do you feel as if you are "chin tucking" ? Did you read the link on Positional Apnea? I seldom recommend higher pressures if you are cutting off your air by chin tucking, but let's just see if an Epap of 9 might make a difference.

RE: Long Machine use Sleeping Hours?
Hello Again OpalRose.... Just curious...can you tell me your age?
I guess I need to tell you a few details about me and BIPAP... (70 year old male) Been on BIPAP for 18 months now. 1. I have had (2) cancer tongue surgeries in the past 2 years that have been NO fun! Physical health....good. 2. I also have a custom Bite Plate I jam in my mouth every night to keep what's left of my tongue out of play of my teeth that takes up some real estate in my mouth. 3. We have 3 cats, and one of them Tiwaz, comes into my bedroom and wakes me up around 6:00am.... I love him though! 4. I am currently using a contoured pillow (larger in the back and smaller in the front neck area. I tried it with the larger back area last night next to my neck and didn't notice a big difference. In the past though, I have used a non contoured softer pillow that sits lower..... maybe I should go back to that? Positional Apnea.... Yes I did read all of that and I wonder how much I consciously can do while I am in a deep sleep? (with a bipap machine around my head and face and a bite plate inside my mouth) Position of my sleep... I prefer side sleeping, probably in a fetal position (Left and Right sides). I start out on my back until my body tells me I need to change to a different position. Then later in my sleep, I usually sleep on my right side until something hurts then to the Left side and vise versa. Sleeping for usually, 9 to 11 hours a night makes some stuff hurt or arms falling asleep. Chin tucking....Probably. Side sleeper L & R Should I reset my Epap from 8 to 9? Can you tell me what the Trigger change and the bumped up EPAP to 9 would be doing for me now? I really appreciate your thoughts and guidance with all of this! Reesche |
