Take a look at this screen shot attached...... Last nights welcome info:
"Your device was under 12.56 - 16.56 cmH2O for 95% of the time"
How do read this? Is your recommendation still to change the low number to 9?

RE: Long Machine use Sleeping Hours?
Hello again OpalRose.....
Attached is a screen shot of last nights session..... I did notice more pressure on the resetting of the 8 to 9 probably on my exhale.... I assume it is the exhale setting? Trigger is still set to "very high". See what you think. Thank you!

RE: Long Machine use Sleeping Hours?
Ok, I'll attempt to answer your questions, except my age.... although I'm close enough to your age and feel every bit of those years.
The change from Medium to Very High Trigger did bring your CA count down, but if it doesn't "feel" right to you, then change it to High. Trigger Sensitivity: Adjustable trigger sensitivity can be used to optimize synchrony between the device and the patient’s own respiratory efforts. As far as using EPAP 8 vs. 9, there isn't much difference in your stats. I thing the Nov 4th chart looked pretty good. But if EPAP 9 felt like too much pressure, then try 8.4 or 8.6 (somewhere in between). Here's the formula: EPAP + PS = Inspiration. (9 + 4 = 13) When you add PS to EPAP (exhale pressure), this gives you the starting inspiration. So in your case: Inspiration 13+ with exhalation at 9+. That opening message in OSCAR doesn't mean you were at a certain pressure for 95% of the night. It means you were at that pressure or lower. (Note the "or lower"). When you look at your chart, toward the morning where the clumps of apnea show, the air flow attempts to raise the pressure to clear the Obstructives, but it usually fails with positional apnea. So at that particular time, you will see the higher pressure. I can better understand why you might be experiencing some positional apnea with the tongue surgery and bite plate you are using. That's a lot to deal with. At this stage, I would just keep your settings where you feel most comfortable, as your chart for Nov 4th is decent.

I will change the setting of the EPAP to 8.5 now. Do you want to see another reading tomorrow? Again...... Thank You! Reesche

Hello Opal.... Attached is a screen shot of last night.... Reesche-Tuesday-11-05-2024
I adjusted the exhale to 8.6 instead of 9. Funny how the numbers go.... there was no 8.5. I change out my Evora Full Faced Mask last night to see if It would cut down on the leaks. Notice the 1 hour area from 2:20 to 3:20! My head gear is also getting frayed velcro. Not gripping enough? However, you should see my face this morning.... contoured from the tight straps. Let me know what you think. Reesche

RE: Long Machine use Sleeping Hours?
Your chart looks good. Question is, aside from the leaking around 2:20, did you sleep well?
You shouldn't have to tighten your mask to a point of being uncomfortable, leaving marks on your face. Read through the Mask Primer when you get a chance, especially this: https://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph..._Jeffy1958

RE: Long Machine use Sleeping Hours?
Thank you Opal !
I do feel rested in the morning and all through the day. I try to tighten my Evora Mask down not to tight to start out..... however, when ever I seem to notice some leaking through the nights sleep, I then I tighten it down again a little to get rid of them. What I have learned is, it is a fine line between the mask/mask holder and the head gear. It seems as soon as the velcro on the head gear starts to wear, it looses its stickiness. I read Jeffys article and it was great! Light pressure, tightened down straps should be equal. and tighter is not better. I will fiddle around with this in the next several days. Tired of waking up looking like a hose head! I will keep monitoring if anything changes in the next couple of days I have attached a screen show of my mask and headgear.... Again, Thanks for you input. Reesche

RE: Long Machine use Sleeping Hours?
I see that you are still using ramp. You don't need it anymore. You get no therapy during ramp and anytime you leave your bed and return, it starts up again, robbing you of therapy. Please turn it off. Your therapy will improve.
