RE: Starting 2nd week. all compliance, little sleep
Thanks for all the info. Right now, my measure is if I am able to sleep at all and last night was a rousing (or should I say, a non-rousing success). The last year has been hell on sleep - from insane hot flashes to the 24/7 tinnitus that struck me a few months ago. I was just learning to sleep through the high-pitched squealing when I got the SA diagnosis and then the CPAP. I try to remind myself if I keep at it, a few months down the road between HRT, CBT training for tinnitus, and the CPAP therapy , I might feel like a different person or at least a person in general and not a sweaty zombie meat sack.

Well then, "Better than A Sweaty Zombie Meat Sack". I accept that challenge.
We have faced some challenging cases here, we will be here for the long haul. I know from my own experience this forum is probably the fastest way for an individual to learn about *PAP Therapy. I would ask that you keep all of your questions on this thread, not just your ResMed settings, but guidance on masks, pillows, soft cervical collars, Humidifier, heated hose. By doing so, it will provide forum members a continuity of information to best guide you on this journey you have undertaken. It will also allow you to refer back to suggestions people have to offer, and links posted to your personal thread. We can have this thread renamed as Your Therapy Thread, People usually use their "Avatar Name,, maybe a short wish list,, Therapy Thread". I would suppose that " MaggieL's "More Better Than A Sweaty Zombie Meat Sack" Therapy Thread " has not been taken Yet, I will have to check. In all honestly you might be surprised how many of us have been there. We ,aaah did not know there was a proper name for that sleep deprived state we had existed in for years. Some of our new members are fortunate to find *PAP therapy settings, after a short while, others we have had to guide thru the process of justifying a different type of therapy equipment. Most of will find that over the years their therapy will need some tuning and tweaking to provide optimum results. I Know that come allergy season I am apt to make minor adjustments to my pre bedtime routine and therapy pressures. Did you have a sleep study? If so, you need to get your "Sleep Study Report" from your providing sleep center, redact all personal information you do not want to share on the internet, then post it here. You may have to pick it up in person, due to HIPPA rules. Our forum members can learn a lot from your sleep study reports and apply that to suggested therapy changes. Post some more OSCAR Reports, so we can see how you are doing and guide you on your journey.

Thanks. Journey is right. Last night wasn't great and I definitely don't feel rested this morning. Woke up several times and had trouble getting back to sleep. Noticed that my tinnitus is much louder since starting CPAP, so if I wake up even a little, I have a very loud noise awaiting me. Have scratchy throat this morning and nose has been very dry. I alternate between saline nasal rinse and flonase, so hopefully after a period of adjustment, it will get the dry nose under control.
Thread name change would be fine. I changed the reply title, but I assume an admin will need to change the thread title. I have attached my original wonky sleep study, as well as Oscar's data from last night. I don't know what the protocol is in this forum. I know a daily report would make this thread a monster and I also know that I need a little time in between adjustments to see what actually takes. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

A couple of observations, from your sleep report, you need to stay off your back, you had some potentially serious SpO2 desaturations.
Could you put up a 4 to 5 minute zoomed in view to capture the events flagged Flow Rate just before 0240. It might be a whole bunch of Sleep Wake Junk (SWJ) but then again, it might indicate what the arousal was about. Your Flow rate for last night's session looks a lot better than the first OSCAR Report you posted. The extreme responses are tamed down a little, lets let the pressure settings ride for at least another night, then look at you OSCAR Report again. Humor can help get us through some tough times.

Just learning to work with the Oscar program, so I hope that this is what you are asking for. I also started wearing a Wellue 02Ring last night, but haven't figured out how to import it into Oscar yet. Looks like the lowest I dropped was to 90% with an average of 95%, so CPAP is definitely helping with that. Thanks!

RE: MaggieL, Better than a Sweaty Zombie Meat Sack Therapy Thread
There is a lot to learn, the more you are able to maneuver around OSCAR the better the chances of resolving the issues.
That image does not look like normal Sleep Wake Junk (SWJ), It more resembles an actual restriction of the airway. The tops of the wave shapes appear to be slightly distorted. For a comparison to what I suspect to be more normalized Flow Rate wave shapes, could you grab slightly over a 1 minute zoomed view of 2300, that area looks to have some fairly smooth wave shapes. If you double click on the left Y-axis of the Flow Rate graph it should auto scale to give a better image, you can right mouse click on the Y-axis and a fly out window will open up you will have access to set an "Override" scaling. Play with it, The view I am looking for should appear like this one. You will notice I zoomed into an area with no flags trying to find the most normalized Flow Rate Wave shape. After you get the normalized wave shape, try to capture ~ a 1 minute view around 0226, that is ~ 5 to 6 minutes before your first major flag you captured previously. We may see distorted wave shapes indicative of flow restriction even that far ahead of the flagged event. Try using the Left & right arrow keys to scroll across the graph of the zoomed in views, you can also use the up & down arrow keys to change the zoom window. You may benefit reviewing the YT video OSCAR tutorials that CPAPfriend put together. You will find the link in post #10 of this thread. Now is you chance to learn the power of OSCAR. Your Oximeter is a good investment, you had some 72 second apneas in your sleep study, if those occur again the Oximeter should pick it up. If you have any trouble with the Wellue software O2 Insight Pro or importing that information into Oscar let me know. Here is a link where we discuss means of syncing time of the Oximeter with the time in the CPAP machine. https://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread...my-therapy Enjoy.

I suspicioned a name like that, may attract attention. It is a comforting feeling knowing I have forum members looking over my shoulder, A quick shout out to Crimson Nape for backing me up with a quick change of the title to enhance MaggieL's chances of attracting attention.
