RE: I dunno what I have.
Hence, the APAP function indicated that you have been put on too low pressure.
Let's find out the correct range. I suggest setting the minimum to 9 and the maximum to 15 cm in APAP and not changing the other parameters except EPR. Set EPR to 2 while monitoring CAs, considering your leaks.
Also, post a few 3-minute windows about your flow rates at different times.
RE: I dunno what I have.
I agree with Szabo, you need to raise your pressure and 9cm and 15cm are a good place to start. You need to get control of the leaks. When you get a leak your pressure raises, this can also cause arousals.
RE: I dunno what I have.
Now you are in the correct pressure range!
You must control the leaks because they wake you up and dry you out. Try to alter the strap tension. Tighter is not necessarily better. If it does not help, you need to find a better mask.
Until then you
- You should set REM = 1 to mitigate the emerging CAs. If it is not enough, you must turn it off. Your flow limit is still high; hence, you need some EPR, which can cause CAs. So, you want to find a narrow path that is acceptable from both sides.
- Increase the moisture setting and use a low-cost thermal insulator on your hose, available on Amazon. Do not be concerned about water condensing. I have been using moisture setting 8 at a hose temperature of 28C.
- You might reduce the max pressure to 11 if absolutely necessary because of the uncontrolled leaks, but finding another approach for leak control is better.
- Modify the Soft setting to Standard; it gives you quicker and more aggressive responses that are more suitable for males
Let us know your progress!
RE: I dunno what I have.
In this chart, high frequent leaks and higher CA are an issue. There's something not right with this mask for you. If well fitting and adjusted properly, it should be capable of handling the max 15 pressure. I'm thinking the leak pattern you're getting, those sharp, short duration spikes of leak to be mask generated.
