The connector piece has the exhaust holes needed -- bonus, if you sleep with someone, you'll now not be blowing air into their face. The exhaust is up by the heated hose connection.
And I once slept through a power outage -- it was either 7 or 11 minutes long. I don't remember which. But the only reason I knew about it was the Oscar graphs, and blinking clocks at home.
