Need help with ResMed N30 mask

Need help with ResMed N30 mask
Recently got the N30 mask and it works well for me. Especially as I turn on my side it seems to keep the seal very well.

A problem I am having though is keeping the correct tension on the strap(s). It's a very wonky design, at least if you want to tighten things up. If you're familiar with the mask, tightening the single buckle always reduces the length of the strap pair. There is then less strap to fit the crown of your head and they spring back together again. To have them truly split open enough to fit the crown of my head anyway, the total strap length become too long resulting in a loose mask.

Here's the mask:

So how are you supposed to keep the strap pairs large enough to fit the crown of your head, but also keep the total strap length short enough so the mask stays in place?

Has anyone noticed this? Better yet, has anyone a solution?

Thanks!

If you wash the headgear in hot water it will shrink back to original.

Hi staceyburke. Even new and unstretched it is too large if I adjust the buckle so the split is large enough.
