New CPAP Recommendation

New CPAP Recommendation
I'm replacing the CPAP listed below and looking for recommendations.  If there is a resource specific to this can you point me in the correct direction?  I do see alot of reviews but looking to see if there is some type of consensus but not sure if one exists.

Much Appreciated.

Philips DreamStation
Nasal mask: DreamWear Nasal
Humidifier: Dreamstation Hum Core

RE: New CPAP Recommendation
If your Philips machine is a Cpap or Apap, you should get a ResMed AirSense 10 or 11 Autoset machine.  I would personally choose the 10, as it has a long record of working well. Also, the 11s have a smaller motor and seem to require more repairs.

If you are using the Philips Bipap, you should get a ResMed AirCurve 10 Vauto machine.

Most folks here have found that the ResMed machines are a lot better than the Dreamstations.  My husband and I were both originally given Dreamstations, but LOVE our ResMeds!
Machine:  ResMed AirCurve 10 Vauto
Mask:  Bleep DreamPort Sleep Solution

RE: New CPAP Recommendation
Many folk here on the forum use and recommend ResMed machines, specifically the Airsense 10 or 11 Autoset.
Of course, you may need a more specialized Cpap depending on your situation.

Ditto, ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet. Unless your Philips was the bilevel, then ResMed AirCurve 10 VAuto.

RE: New CPAP Recommendation
We both were using Philips DreamStations and DreamStation GOs.
Moved over to ResMed AirSense Auto11 and both of us are thrilled.
After trying RM masks, we unanimously voted to stay with Philips.
As much as we'd like to switch, we like the Dreamwear way better.

RE: New CPAP Recommendation
Thank you all, you have pretty much confirmed what I'm finding.  What I've come up with after spending the morning diving into this further.

Regarding the 11
* = My Dreamstation has this

Pros
  • * Wifi Capability (potential remote updates if available)
  • * APP friendly my dreamstation
  • * Start Stop button
Cons
  • Water Tank capacity - I list this as I see comments about water running out or frequency of refilling but the capacity is the same for both units.
  • * No swivel where hose connects to unit
Not Clear
  • Motor size (this was mentioned but I could not find information)
Durability?
I have seen this mentioned as well as this one is a bit concerning.

Extra pros ... Auto start & auto stop, much smaller unit, easier to clean.

In respect to the water tank, we get 2 nights at 5 or lower. Otherwise, top off every morning, it's easy.
Lack of a swivel hasn't bothered us in the least. Noticed it during research, was concerned, big zero.

Motor size = Same as ResMed Mini. Not concerned. If it blows, we will pop a new motor into it, simple.
Durability mentions have to do with the smaller motor. We enjoy the small size enough to offset easily.

The AS11 is the latest technology. Nice simple display, smaller chassis, less power, auto updates, etc.
My wife voted for the 11, my vote was for the 10. We compromised and got the 11s. She's smarter.
We're both very happy with the choice. Enough we're forgetting about a separate travel machine now.
Bought end caps, extra 65W and 12V power supplies and a shared portable battery for our camping.

What model number is your DreamStation? After taking off the humidifier tub, look at the back or bottom of the device for the label. It'll probably have DSX.....
