My new mask insert is silicone (replacing the foam),

A hair dryer on hot was enough to soften the acrylic enough so I could make a "wide" size.  It didn't take much warming. 

I took a chance on heating because silicone high temperature kitchen gear (plus the low softening point of acrylic) suggested success.

Switched adhesives to Loctite® Go2, using the thinnest coating possible applied with a flat tooth pick.

As new tears happened, I also glued them.

The mask linked along for anther 6 weeks until I bit the bullet and got a new one.  About $20, and the container was labeled "Made in Australia".

Have not used the silicone mask much; the foam seals slightly better and is slightly more uncomfortable.

I use the AirTouch (foam) F20 cushion and so far get about 6 weeks use. Both my sleep doctor (who uses it also) and DME cautioned me about using it for much more than a month. I had an Airfit one also (silicon) but it leaks like crazy. The small sizes of both are actually just a hair too big and I think that is the problem. My DME says I was using the Air Touch too tight--my complaint was pressure on my teeth and hair/head. It leaks also if I loosen it.

Make that foam is silghtly more comfortable than all silicone.  My finger-brain problem.

The clear part of either mask is acrylic, which can be formed when heated.  Keep the temperature under 300 degrees Fahrenheit (150 C) , shoot for 250 F (120 C).

I had an Airfit one also (silicon) but it leaks like crazy.  The small sizes of both are actually just a hair too big and I think that is the problem.  My DME says I was using the Air Touch too tight--my complaint was pressure on my teeth and hair/head. It leaks also if I loosen it.

The silicone F20 leaks on me like crazy too!  It leaks less if I crank it to my face, but then - like you - my teeth/gums & base of my head hurt like the dickens.  (The F20 headgear already hurts the base of my head too much to use it regularly.)
