Trying new battery charger

Trying new battery charger
I am trying to reduce the size of my Phillips System One for travel. Since switching to a full face mask, I find I can remove the humidifier and quite comfortably survive the night. I would also like to reduce the size of the Phillips power converter which is rated for 80 watts. I have a 90 watt converter for my Medistrom Pilot 12 that has a smaller footprint, fits into and runs my S1 machine. Can I use this other power converter in my CPAP?

RE: Trying new battery charger
Don't know. it's all about the output voltage and the plug - whether it will fit your System One. System Ones run on 12 V DC power. If the output from your Mediwompus 12 is 12 V and the watt rating is 90, then it will put out up to 7.5 amps which is perfectly adequate to power your CPAP. Note that 12 V supplies are anywhere from 12 up to 14, maybe 14.5, volts and the unit will not care.

I know that the System One 60 series has a particularly LARGE DC coaxial plug - IIRC it is a 7.4 mm plug. If you go to Amazon and search for "DealMux 5.5mmx2.5mm Female to 7.4x5.08mm Male F/M DC Power Jack Connector" they have one that will convert a more standard 5.5 mm x 2.5 mm connector up to the 7.4 (I think - long time so not 100% sure). If your is a 50 series, I THINK (but do not know) it might use a 2.5 mm plug - may be a 2.1 mm.

Then, if the output from the charger/converter is simply 12 V, then you should be good to go, However, if it is a dedicated smart charger that varies voltage, then it may not be the best suited to your purpose.

Note also that I don't use a factory power supply for my machine. I use a 12 V radio power supply hooked up to a switch/charger with a 12 V battery for backup in case of a power failure. Now there are some shiny electronics in the middle there but it works really well. Far too bulky to be portable, though.
