New ResMed
I currently have a "ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV" as identified by the Oscar software. It's about 7 years old and I am consistently getting less than 1 AHI and seems to be doing its job just fine. I was hoping on a new model, but apparently there is not one out yet. This one has the CDME cellular which is no longer used and because of its age it doesn't matter.
There are soooooo many iterations of models out there, some are just misidentified I think such as APAP, BPAPS, VPAPS, CPAPS, AirCurve, AirSense, etc, etc I have no idea of what is what. I wish there was like a catalog list of models.
Because my current machine is working so well I would like to know that when the new one comes in, it is exactly the same model with any improvements that might have been added. Will it be labeled the same as above? Or be renamed...?

I was just able to get a rental that has about two years on it, but the funny thing is it is very hard to find new online.
There are also card to cloud versions of RESMED machines (sans modem) that are about 1/2 or less the cost. Can't find any ASV versions either.
I found a common cpap site that listed it as discontinued (aircurve 10 ASV), yet it still shows on RESMED site.
When i asked why, they said go ask RESMED why.
Hard to really know what is what or who to believe.

If you're just dealing with the most common obstructive apnea, a ResMed AutoSet (CPAP) or VAuto (bilevel) are going to meet your needs.
The ASV is for treatment of central apnea, less common. If that's what you need now, then stick with that.
As for new models, not sure when ASV, etc. will be expected, however be certain it'll be called something like it is now, ResMed AirCurve 11 ASV.

Ok, I think the ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV will still do well. It's when you have complex issues like I do with Complex Apnea and COPD that the ASV may become a less than ideal choice.
