RE: New mild apnea CPAP user
What is EPR?

If it is to release the pressure when exhaling, yes that would be very nice, except that my palate already closes in almost all sleeping positions (except on my stomach) with the pressure on...so...

EPR is defined as Expiratory Pressure Relief which is pressure taken off your expiratory pressure.  SleepRider is setting you up to use it as Pressure Support which is used to fight the negative effects of Flow Limits in BiPAP machines.  Out of the box EPR is considered a comfort setting,  Sleeprider is using it a therapeutic control not as a comfort setting.  This is a technique we use to help optimize your settings

EPR Exhale Pressure Relief. With a minimum pressure of 7.0 your inhale/exhale pressures are 7.0/4.0 which means the lowest pressure you have now, you will continue to get, and pressure can rise to 12/9.0. That should be plenty, but we can make changes if needed. EPR usually really helps people with air ingestion. Your choice, but try it, you'll like it.
