How quiet should my unit be?

How quiet should my unit be?
I am a first time user with a luna 3G and ResMed full mask Quattro. With my mask on I hear the sound of my breath rather loudly. I don't remember hearing that the first couple time I used it. Very annoying. A compliance person with my dealer, Aprea Tech, could not trouble shoot the problem after a 45 minute phone call and has referred me to the dealer's respiratory therapist. Any ideas on what's going on with the unit? Thanks!

RE: How quiet should my unit be?
I have a ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet. The machine itself is dead quiet. But.....I can hear my own breath no matter what mask I might happen to wear, and I have three of them, all different models.

Sometimes, it's quieter than other times, but the sound is still there.  Eat-popcorn

Thanks Big Guy. I've heard of solutions from ear plugs to putting the unit in a box. Also that Darth Vader is standard with all Res Med machines. Was thinking maybe it's quirky and I should get a replacement unit.
