RE: First time therapy, settings and progress
Thanks for the input and vote of confidence. I have played with cycle and trigger a bit, but also with Ti max, I changed it from the default setting up to 3.0 seconds, are there any potential downside to having Ti max set to high? I had found with default when I was going to sleep I felt like it cut my breath off a bit but I wonder if having it too high could create any issues?

In your case I wouldn't think so. Very wise making that move. From what I know, the only reason to reduce TI max is shorten the inhale. Even if you TI max is longer than any of your regular breaths during the night, no problem. You now get 3 seconds to breathe. If some of your breaths are less than that, no problem.

RE: First time therapy, settings and progress
Hey team
I have been making some good progress, feeling better on the whole, what a journey. I just wanted to throw this out there, what are the chances of having a "faulty" machine? Faulty as in not quite working as it should. I have my Resmed Aircurve 10, and, it works fine in most respects. But I have had some issues with it cooking memory cards (corrupting data). If I am extra careful and shut the machine right down and wait a few minutes it doesn't really happen but still does from time to time. Then when I was experimenting with some settings and suddenly i was getting crazy aerophagia down into the low 11's with a pressure support of only 3, which never happened before. I think with my RDI I need a higher pressure but the aerophagia was so bad that I couldn't go any higher then 11.2....now suddenly I'm able to go to an IPAP of 11.8 and and EPAP of 7.2 with no aerophagia. It all just seems odd, can aerophagia fluctuate that much? Maybe i was mouth breathing more there for a while? (I am on a full face). My charts look much less spikey at IPAP's over 12 so I will continue to try and work my way back up. Anyway, I may just be paranoid about the machine, I'm sure the likelihood of it being faulty is low, |
