PR RemStar Plus Cflex Model 260P Update?

Hello All,

I have the above mentioned CPAP machine and recently downloaded both SleepyHead and PR Encore Basic software programs. The software states that the 260P is a "Compliance Only" machine which only reports usage hours.

Does anyone know if there is a firmware update that can make the machine "data capable" so as to report more than just basic info, or if that is not possible without either replacing the main circuit board, or at worst having to replace the whole machine?

No firmware updates from the manufacturer will make it so an inexpensive CPAP like the REMstar Plus machines can magically be turned into REMstar Pro machines with full data capability.  That would make it so no one would ever buy a REMstar Pro (which were usually about $100 more than the Plus models).

Now, I'm not sure if it's been determined that the mechanical parts of either machine (Plus & Pro) are the same or not, or whether the "data capable" function is a function of a mechanical difference or simply a software (firmware) difference, or a combination thereof.

One thing's for sure - if you ever find out how to easily turn a REMstar Plus into a REMstar Pro or REMstar Auto, by all means, let us know, as I know there will be several thousand Plus owners that would LOVE to know how to do just that.
