Newbie - seeking roadmap for Dx and Tx

RE: Newbie - seeking roadmap for Dx and Tx
Fats, the sellers and Amazon have gotten pressure from the manufacturers not to sell on the Amazon market place. It is a violation of Amazon's terms and this makes it easy for the manufacturer to defend their distributor and retail (DME) network. The Airsense 10 Autoset is still available near $500 on most Craigslists. These are distributors selling new machines out the back-door without Rx. The machines have warranty, but that is about the extent of customer service. Most provide a phone number to execute the sale, and require payment by PayPal.

Using Craigslist is a lot more like "Whack-A-Mole" since there are literally hundreds of local online publications and these are much harder to shut down than Amazon. It's not as elegant, and seems a bit less secure, but it is inexpensive and many sales are going through that channel. The biggest advise there is the buyer must know exactly what model they want and be very specific in their order, then be prepared to do their own setup.

Here is something interesting. I have spoken with one of these sellers, and they even have advanced machines like the Aircurve 10 ASV available for about $2100, but they won't sell those without a script. So for the individual that wants an advanced machine, it can be obtained on discount, but they still need to have a prescription in hand. That price is not unlike SecondWindCPAP for an 'open-box' so I think I would still go to them for the better customer service.
