[Equipment] Help please
#11
RE: Help please
Hello.  I am a 15 year CPAP user and still trying to understand my OSCAR reports so I look at others and the replies about them in seek of knowledge.  I find it interesting that you have a flat red line and no data from 13:00 to 3:00.  I get blank areas like that too on my reports.  Is that the CPAP machine running without the mask/pillows and headgear in place?  Maybe an expert here will explain how blank areas appear on OSCAR reports.
I only give suggestions from experience as a fellow CPAP user, not professional advice.

RE: Help please
The flat red line is the zero reference line superimposed on the graph to determine the separation of an inhale and an exhale.

Why would the area from 13:00 to 3:00 be devoid of data?  Machine running without headgear on?

RE: Help please
Nope, read the OP's post at the end of page 1. He has a very irregular sleep schedule, so the machine (or maybe OSCAR) is not grouping all the different sessions in a sensible way.

Thanks.  So my similar blank areas are still a mystery.  They come and go.

RE: Help please
I am posting the data from a rare night when I actually slept all night with the CPAP on.

Can someone give me insight in understanding the graphs I posted? Thanks! I have tried the suggested settings, but suspect I am having problems with my exhale. I would really appreciate some feedback!

RE: Help please
I am not an expert but I do have over 15 years of experience using CPAP.  This may help:

1. Set your screenshot to full screen to get all the OSCAR data to an image.  Info is missing from details on the left of each of your images.

2. Look at your scores on the left of your OSCAR report.  See all the 0.0s?  That means no apnea events or other events like large leaks were recorded.  I have never in 15 years had success as that with therapy.

3.  Use the top start/stop button to shut your machine off if auto-off is not working.  It should return to ramping once turned back on.  If not, try unplugging the machine from the power source, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in.  My AirSense 10 is set to auto-off but keeps blowing away many times once the mask is removed.

That OSCAR report looks amazingly good to me.  I did not know such a lack of events existed till now.

RE: Help please
I do not see anything in the latest chart implying a change needs to be made. The biggest issue seems to be the understandably erratic sleep schedule (as a retired fellow writer I did the same at one point), but that is a difficult thing to manage given the job.

First thing to do is read the link in my signature on “Optimising your OSCAR charts”. You are close, but there is still information we like to see missing.

Looking at just the latest chart, the settings are doing their job at managing events. If they are not comfortable, then we can help tweak things. If you are not feeling rested, that is something and much harder to figure out. If things are just uncomfortable, then we can possibly help there as well.

RE: Help please
Thanks

I want to point out that the info that I posted was a rare event. I usually spend the hours in bed putting on and pulling off the mask! I posted that because I actually slept straight through without taking the mask off too much. I will fix the data view and re post it.

Last night I could only tolerate the mask for an hour or two at a time. I want to figure out why I feel like I can't breath with it on after an hour or two.
