Not using water in AirSense 10 Elite

Not using water in AirSense 10 Elite
I have seen reports of people doing fine without putting water into the tank of their CPAP machine. I'm thinking of doing the same thing. I have a couple of questions.

1. I have a heated hose for use with my AirSense 10 Elite. Could I still use that without water in the tank? Or would it have no effect?

2. The reports I've seen note that no water in the tank works best in places with high humidity. I live in Japan, which is very humid in the summer. I have a digital clock in the room that also shows temperature and humidity. Approximately what percentage and above is considered high humidity?

Thanks.

I live in western Colorado in the high desert.  Very low humidity and I have never used water.  It is a comfort thing - use water or no water and see you feel better with or without.

Thanks! Do you use a heated hose?
