OSCAR - Defining Database Start & End Dates
Re: OSCAR - Defining Database Start & End Dates
I am seeking the following information for using OSCAR:
1). Can I define a Start Date and an End Date for my OSCAR Database File?
- My current OSCAR Database is 6GB and I prefer to limit the DB to reflect only a limited date range to reduce the file size.
- This is for portability when taking the OSCAR Database File to my Sleep Specialist.
2). Can I save my OSCAR Database with the Pulse Oximetry Data intact?
- Or must the Pulse Oximetry Data be imported whenever the Database is viewed on another computer (i.e. by my Sleep Specialist)?
Thanks in advance for any feedback/assistance!
RE: OSCAR - Defining Database Start & End Dates
- Since your question is software related, I have moved your thread to the Software Support Forum.
- Once you import your oximetry data into OSCAR, it becomes part of your profile's data.
- To limit the database size:
- I would recommend creating an archival directory.
- Copy, or better yet, create a zipped copy of your current profile and save it to the archive directory.
- After making a backup, look in the OSCAR_Data/Profiles/YourProfileName/CPAPmodel and delete the contents of the Backup directory. This will free up a lot of space.
- If you have more than one profile, I would recommend doing this for all of them. This will significantly reduce the size of the OSCAR_Data directory.

Thank-you for your reply!
- Sorry, I did not recall that the OSCAR Forum existed.
Yes, I had multiple Profiles for the various PAP devices I have used over the years.
I backed them up and then removed the extra Profiles.
The OSCAR DB with only the current Profile is now alot smaller.
Hopefully, in future, I can entice the amazing OSCAR Team to incorporate an export data-file option with a selecable date range for transfer the file to specialists.
- Something like what we see with accounting software (i.e. export a backup file for the accountant).
I will try to open the DB in my Notebook to see if the SPo2 data arrived intact.
- I didn't see that info the last time I tried.
Is it necessary that both devices (source and the remote) have the same version of OSCAR installed?
Cheers
