OSCAR is born, here your wishes, suggestions and heads-up!
Obviously people will see shortcomings or have fantastic ideas for the further development of OSCAR, that now begins. Please post them here...

Like this one: Doctor-no-get-it , he should use OSCAR!

The first one I received:
support for BMC RESmart GII Auto CPAP, please!
Arie KLERK: Member of the Dutch Apnea Association staff (https://apneuvereniging.nl) and proud to be the OSCAR Translations Team Coordinator.
***Please help us: We’re always looking for more translators and language editors***

Membership in the Advisory Members group does not imply medical expertise or qualification for advising Sleep Apnea patients, but just dedication to AB.

RE: OSCAR is born, here your wishes, suggestions and heads-up!
Congratulations on the launch!

Here are a couple of my suggestions:
  • support for the DreamStation Go
  • register for Apple certification so it doesn't throw up the 'unidentified developer' prompt and stops it from launching (on macOS)
  • support for dark mode on macOS
  • updated icons-- something modern like from FontAwesome or Noun Project

Of course, this is just a wishlist. If I had to choose, dark mode would be at the top of my request. I've attached a screenshot of OSCAR in macOS dark mode for reference.

Thanks for making this possible.

Thank you for the screenshot, we were wondering how it would look in dark mode.

Ironically, dark mode is probably going to be one of the harder things to address. There are a lot of cross-platform UI assumptions scattered throughout the code. Figuring out how to recolor the graphs to make them visible on a dark background, and only on a single platform, isn't trivial.

The higher priority is going to be accuracy, stability, and support for more machines.  So that's a least one of the items on your wish list. Smile

Edit: We might be able to address the illegible text more quickly. Where else do you see white text?

The DreamStation Go machines currently have some support and appear to work with OSCAR (with a caveat:  The data reporting has not been validated with a proprietary software package like EncorePro).

The OSCAR supported machines Wiki article has been updated to read:

Quote:Not Validated

Dreamstation Go CPAP & Go Auto-CPAP -- Not validated against PR tools and shows the Wrong model Name/Number. But it appears to work otherwise. Use at your own risk.

Thanks for your reply. I've uploaded some more screenshots on Imgur: https://imgur.com/a/WcdZTEp

I've managed to install a copy of the latest Encore Pro 2 from here, and I'll be happy to share some data to compare between them.

Excellent.  If you haven't already done so, you may wish to send a private message to bonjour to ask if you might be added to the OSCAR beta-testing forum, where you can post your results.  I know they could use the help for future releases.

RE: OSCAR is born, here your wishes, suggestions and heads-up!
One thing that always bugged me about my sleepyhead and now the Oscar installation. I use a FlashAir card in my machine and a synchronization program in my computer that keeps the machine's data copied over to an SD card in the computer. I then read the data directly from the computer SD card. Sleepyhead/Oscar automatically detects SD cards and found the Flashair card on the network, and it is slow going if I'm not paying attention.

When I click on "Importer," the program detects the SD card in the computer and asks if I want to download from it. If I hit "Yes," then it'll download from there, but will also attempt to download from the Flashair card since it found it as well. If I hit "specify," then it will only use the computer SD card, which is what I want.

If, somehow or other, "yes" can mean "only" the card that is specified, that will work. If the seeking can be limited to the local computer, that will work, etc.

Yeah, my "specify" workaround does work, so this isn't earth shattering, just hoping a fix is simple and can be included some day.

For people that use Fedora Linux or CentOS/RHEL, I've created a new unofficial repository so that you can easily install OSCAR and receive updates.

I use Flashair too but it is not linked to my computer. I have tried grabbing the files directly off Flashair in the machine through webdav and.. well.. you could take a shower, eat breakfast and do the dishes before it is done copying data over. Assuming it doesn't timeout. An option to disable auto detecting of SD cards would be nice. This being a preference after an initial install. In other words, Auto detect ON until user shuts it off then just use last known data location. Does that sound right to you Ed?
Using FlashAir W-03 SD card in machine. You can download your data through wifi with FlashPAP or Sleep Master utilities.

I wanted to learn Binary so I enrolled in Binary 101. I seemed to have missed the first four courses. Big Grinnie

Stick it to the man, Download OSCAR and take back control of your data!

Thanks Ian. Like I didn't have enough Honey-Do projects to tackle. Mornincoffee

I am making a list of things in OSCAR that don't seem quite right. I'll post that later.

as far as new features I'd like to see, the ability to control scroll speed while scrolling through 8 hours of flow rate would really be nice. holding the right arrow key down is too fast to focus on. the only alternative is to tap the right arrow key and doing so scores or hundreds of times a day is wearing out that keyboard key on my laptop.
