OSCAR is born, here your wishes, suggestions and heads-up!

RE: OSCAR is born, here your wishes, suggestions and heads-up!
I can't remember seeing this before, but is it possible to be able to access the data file from multiple computers, but NOT at the same time? I envision this with keeping the data in DropBox (or something similar) and access the file from a remote computer similar to using various Office docs. OSCAR would be installed on all the computers accessing the files. I think PC to PC would be fairly easy, but don't know PC and Mac would coexist.

Just a thought.

Yes, you can access your OSCAR directory from several computers.  I've done that across the network.  I think OneDrive and Dropbox might work as well.  With any synchronization tool like OneDrive or Dropbox, you would need to be careful that any synchronization had completed before running OSCAR on another machine.  Synchronization could be problematic because there are so many files in the OSCAR data directory, so I would hesitate to rely on it without a lot of testing.  For example, my personal profile has more than 10,000 files.  Now only a few of those files change each time I use OSCAR, but that's still a lot of files to synchronize.

It is certainly possible to move a zipped directory from one machine to another.

I have transferred complete, zipped OSCAR_Data directories from the Mac to my PC with only fonts presenting a problem, and OSCAR has been changed to make sure it uses only fonts that are installed on the machine it is running on.

Thank you. I figured it could be done as long as only one computer was in it at a time.

Highlight selected row in Changes to Prescription Settings
I've got years of stored CPAP data with many prescription changes (I periodically use the DreamStation's Auto Trial mode to reassess my pressure setting). When I open the Statistics page my wide monitor makes it difficult to see what AHI I got with each pressure setting (see attached image). It would be nice if clicking on a row in the "Changes to Prescription Settings" area highlighted that row to make it easier to read.

Oh, and thanks for picking up this project and moving forward with it. Oscar is a valuable tool for CPAP users.[Image: 13bU6k1.jpg]

But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself...A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."

Two suggestions.

I tried installing the .deb package on elementary OS. Elementary OS doesn't have a ~/Desktop directory. Because this dir is missing the package installation failed. You should check if this dir exists in the package installation script, and maybe build different .deb files for different distributions.

You should allow access to the Issues function in gitlab. That way it's easier to report bugs or feature requests. A more advanced usage would be to use issue boards, and maybe create some kind of roadmap to the next release as I've seen other projects have done.

RE: OSCAR is born, here your wishes, suggestions and heads-up!
We have chosen Mantis to log and manage issues and changes for OSCAR. We accept public input from forums both here and elsewhere. The only issues that have not been added were those that were already present in the Mantis tracker. We appreciate any and all input and many of the changes that have been made are the direct result of this input, not from the OSCAR team.

On the subject of releases, we will not make a release before it is ready. At this time we are making significant changes in the ResMed data loader. Obviously OSCAR at the time of release will still have known issues, but we have to draw the line somewhere. We are thinking of releasing OSCAR v1.1.0 sometime this year. Preliminary testing is occurring as I write this.

On additional distributions, make a case, we can't say we will support all possible distributions, but we will consider it.

Hi.  I just figured out that Sleepyhead is no more and installed Oscar.

I know there's probably a simple answer to this, but how do I enlarge the lettering on my screen.  The font is too small.

Thanks to all working on these programs.    They're so helpful.
