RE: OSCAR screenshot: one night with new mask
I have now ordered a new pillow so will see if that helps.
Any recommendations for collars?

RE: OSCAR screenshot: one night with new mask
Sleep clinic appointment yesterday. I was hoping to get a new ASV machine but it turns out I have to wait. So for now I have to make the best of things.
They analysed my data pretty thoroughly and ended up raising the EPAP from 10 to 12 and the breath rate from 8 ro 9. Looking at the stats, it does not seem to have made any difference. The only subjective difference wais that when I woke up in the night my mind felt less fogged. Was raising my pressure a good idea? Should the IPAP go higher? I know I need an ASV but for now, as I say, it is about making the best of it.

RE: OSCAR screenshot: one night with new mask
You're using your machine as a leaf blower currently. Hence you can't rely an any data the machine provides. First concentrate on a good mask fit. At the moment the therapy literally blows off -- through your mouth, I presume. What about using an FFM?

RE: OSCAR screenshot: one night with new mask
I am about to start trying out new masks.
Btw according to this article: [DME Link Removed] Search Supplier #14 for "Everything you want to know about bi-pap machines", typical settings are more like 3-9...if and when I can plug the leaks it seems my pressures will need to be lowered quite a bit? Btw swapping masks recently and getting the leak rate way down made little difference to the AHI. The centre I attend meanwhile tells me there is no need for a sleep study with the machine I use - a Respironics BiPAP s?t C-Series because it auto-adapts to your needs. Is this true? Seems to ne you want to at least set it in the right ball park...not way too high or way too low. -----

RE: OSCAR screenshot: one night with new mask
ALL xPAP machines need to be optimized, even the auto machines and settings provided by a titration study are often based on just a few "typical" minutes so they too need to be optimized.
Post your nightly OSCAR carts and we can help you down that road, obviously far better than "The centre".

RE: New mnask, lower leaks but AHI no better
As this OSCAR screenshot shows, my new mask (ResMed Mirage FX) has massively reduced my leaks. As you can see the time above leak red line is now 15%. Is this within accetptable range? AHI however is no better. The previous night was around 8.7 - better, but still too high. I can see hyppopneas are the main issue. I am wearing an SCC so not sure what else I can do about possible chin tucking, Any thoughts on this chart?

RE: OSCAR screenshot: one night with new mask
IMHO leakage is too high despite of the new mask. Try to lower it. Have you considered to use a different pillow? The contact between mask and pillow should be es minimal as possible.

RE: OSCAR screenshot: one night with new mask
I will work on getting that leak rate down. From limited past experience with this mask, I should be able to get it down lower.
I do have a sleep apnea pillow. Meanwhile here's last night data:

RE: OSCAR screenshot: one night with new mask
And last night. A total Hypopnea fest -sometimes > 30 per hour. OAs and Centrals pretty well controlled. Only 6% over leak red line too. What is the next step? Do I really ned an ASV when Centrals increasingly appear to be well controlled?

RE: OSCAR screenshot: one night with new mask
The latest screenshot. AHI is going up with the new mask although leak rate is down. I am starting to think this mask is not working for me. I have uploaded several screenshots now so hopefully, that is enough to form a judgment. One thing I have noticed as I drag the mouse along the graph of my AHI (which die snot of coutse show up with this online version) is that pressures are almost always at the maximum. Does this not suggest that they need to be raised?
