When I attempt to import O2 Ring data into Oscar it crashes to the desktop. CPAP data is read in with no problem. I believe I read a report stating that an O2 Ring with an S designation is the problem but I am not 100 percent sure if that is correct. Has anyone else faced a similar problem and if so is there a fix. I also tried using windows 11 pro and it also crashes to desktop. I have attached the macOS dump file when it crashes.
RE: Oscar crashes when importing Wellue O2 ring data
Hi Armorwolf! -
The O2Ring-S has a different data file structure than the previous models. The updated code is in the OSCAR repository and will be in the next release of OSCAR.

I hate to bother, but I'm having this issue as well. I would really love to get my SPO2 data imported to OSCAR. I have a standard Viatom O2Ring (not an O2Ring-S) but when I try to import the CSV, OSCAR just crashes. Did they update the Viatom app and it's outputting a differently formatted CSV that is crashing OSCAR? My CSV looks pretty standard (4 columns: Time, Oxygen Level, Pulse Rate, Motion). Can I modify the CSV to make it compatible / able to be imported into OSCAR? Or do I need to wait for a newer version of OCSAR? Thanks!

RE: Oscar crashes when importing Wellue O2 ring data
I was told that the problem only effect O2 Rings with the S. Oscar imports the binary file not the CsV. In the ViHealth app share the results using binary and then import that file
RE: Oscar crashes when importing Wellue O2 ring data
Okay thank you for your quick reply Crimson. I have historic data that I only have in CSV (and on the Vihealth app). I presume if I connect to the O2Ring itself, it's only going to show the last / current session as far as binary data goes. Are there any plans to add CSV import to OSCAR? Thanks!
RE: Oscar crashes when importing Wellue O2 ring data
There are no plans for a CSV import at this time. If you look in the ViHealth app's data folder, you will find a database, either named "PlusebitO2.db" or "db_o2.db". It contains all recorded data and can be extracted using simple SQL commands.

RE: Oscar crashes when importing Wellue O2 ring data
Thanks Crimson. With respect, it's not that easy. Modern Android versions make it nearly impossible to copy/export data from the Android/data folder (and the app subfolders) for security reasons, even using adb. I could root my phone (as I've done this to many phones in the part), a Galaxy S22 Ultra, but that seems overkill for the task at hand. I've been in IT for 30 years, and I can tell you that there is no way a typical OSCAR user would be able to easily export that data from the folder today for use in OSCAR. Have you tried it recently on an Android device running Android 14? Good luck. The most obvious solution would be to add the ability to import the CSV files, as those are easily exportable from the ViHealth app. I understand that OSCAR is open source and no one is being paid to maintain it, I'm just saying that without that functionality, it's nearly impossible to import O2 data in this use case. Thanks.
RE: Oscar crashes when importing Wellue O2 ring data
I've accessed the file on my Android from day one without rooting it. A direct USB connection to a PC will allow the Android to be seen as a device, thus allowing access to the directory tree. Secondly, I also installed an FTP server app and pointed its access point to the data location of my ViHealth files. Now, I just run an automated FTP rsync transfer script to obtain the files. It can be done.
