Oscar with multiple machines

Oscar with multiple machines
Can someone explain the best practice for someone who is using more than one machine with Oscar? Would I create a separate profile per machine, or are the profiles meant to be used for multiple patients?

What I wish I could do would be to configure separate time offsets for each machine, as not all machines support changing the time properly.

You can have a separate profile per machine or have multiple machines on a single profile. I do multiple machines on the same profile to have a single record of usage.

Okay, thanks. That's what I'm doing.

If they are the same manufacture, then you can keep them in the same profile.  If they come from different manufacturers, then it is best to separate them into a profile dedicated to each brand.  The reason is, each manufacture can report different parameters and in a different format and/or scale

Also, since this is a software based question, I have moved the thread to the Software forum.

Okay, understood. So if I have a profile per machine, do I need to select the correct profile before importing data from the SD card?

Note: I have two PR machines, and one Resmed.

Yes! OSCAR will attempt to import to the currently selected profile. It doesn't associate a profile with any particular machine. I would also recommend that you label each SD card with the CPAP it belongs to. Several have mixed the cards and machines up when they replaced them.

RE: Oscar with multiple machines
Good afternoon folks, and thanks for allowing me membership on this forum.

I have been using a ResMed AirSense 10 CPAP machine for years now, but I had to conduct a new 3 day sleep study for the VA and they wouldn't let me use my current machine. They instead sent me a Dreamstation. Grrrrr

I've been inputting my data, from the AS10, into OSCAR but when I tried to input the data from the Dreamstation, nothing showed up in OSCAR so I know I probably did something wrong. My question is, can I input data from two different machines into OSCAR, and how do I do that?

Since this thread already existed, I decided to ask my question here. I'll delete the posting I just created.

Thanks.

Try stopping and restarting OSCAR. Sometimes it gets confused when loading data from a second machine.

RE: Oscar with multiple machines
It's a bit confusing... you (PeaceLoveAndPizza) are saying it's okay to use multiple machines with a single profile, but Crimson Nape is saying it's not.

What are the multiple machines you are using?

I can see in my own Oscar history that I have data for both a DreamStation and an AS10. I did run into trouble when I tried to import from an older PR machine with the same profile.

It would be nice to get some clarity about the best way to use multiple machines. Obviously, using a single profile would be best so you don't have to remember to switch profiles.

I fully understand that this is not a priority for most users.

I will do some more testing with the DreamStation and the AS10 at least.
