P-10 Pillows: how to change headgear?
Currently using the P-10 nasal pillows. I am noticing that the elastic straps seem to be getting a little stretched to the point where it may be affecting nighttime potion- I want to change the elastic headstraps but not sure how to do it. It does not seem evident as to how they are fastened so as to be removable. I am not sure if I will damage the equipment if I force what seems to be the point of attachment.

If you look at the picture you'll see a small slit at the end. That pulls over a small post. Just peel back on the slit on either side and the headband slides right off.

Wash the headgear in extremely hot water. Then let dry. That will shrink the headgear for you for a while. Also, they have started including little pinch adapters to shorten the fit of the straps . Look for those in the box you got with the product.

Switch headgear and mask. Try the Nuance instead since it has adjustable headgear.
Or do what Marillion said.

Image 1 shows the attachment point. It is like a reversed button hole. Image 2 is after pulling down the headgear fabric and unbuttoning it off the stud. Image 3 is the framework that is encased by the fabric headgear. I hope this helps.

OK... I got it now, I was going about trying to take 'em apart all wrong. I was trying to impose a twisting action of sorts - I would have most certainly broke it if I kept going. This makes it much easier for washing or replacing. I do recall a couple of adjusters in the packing too.
I am not sure who or what the "Nuance" is as mentioned. Is it a different type of nasal pillow? I am quite satisfied with the P-10 so far but will look into it more.

I was looking for those when I got mine , and finally they just fell out of the box at one point . I thnk they may have been tucked away behind the user manual or somewhere.

RE: P-10 Pillows: how to change headgear...?
The Nuance is a nasal pillow similar to the P10. The pillows do not set inside the nostril but just outside, forming the seal there. They are extremely comfortable and have adjustable headgear. Having used both, the only real difference between the two (other than the P10s ridiculous headgear) is the noise level. In that, the P10 rules.
If you are happy with the P10, then continue to use it. Finding the right mask is essential to treatment.

Just watched a couple of videos on the Nuance. Interesting! ... it seems quite similar to the P-10 in many ways. I will keep it on my futures list, but currently I have 2 complete set-ups of the 10 so it will be close to a year before I consider a hardware change.

In that, the P10 rules. I've got both. I'm currently trying them, along with a couple of others, for 4 or 5 nights each to compare. So far I like them both. As mentioned above, the exhale port diffuser on the P10 is a great feature which keeps it quiet, but also greatly reduces the blast of the air stream directed at your partner. I'm not experiencing problems with the headgear stretching as it's brand new, but I'll try not to lose those little adjustment clips that fell out of the box. The headgear did slide down the back of my head once or twice, but the seal remained unbroken with no leaks to speak of. The Nuance Pro is just about as small and light, but does put out a stronger exhale port stream. However, the headgear is adjustable. They're both quite small and the nasal pillows were something I adjusted to a lot better than I would have imagined. For both, however, I need some kind of cheek padding to curtail creasing in the morning. |
