It seems unfair that machine manufacturers would use power supplies as a profit center. It is about as dastardly as college text books that change editions every semester so students can't swap books.....

It seems unfair that machine manufacturers would use power supplies as a profit center.

It is like auto dealers and manufacturers collaborating saying that all maintenance must be done at the dealership or the warranty is voided.

I would like similar scrutiny of these practices. I wish also that Respironics would have touted their (formerly) customer friendly approach as a competitive advantage. DeVillbiss has both of the "Res" companies beat as to powering their units.
