Palatal prolapse and V-COM
Has anybody had success, in using the V-COM, when having palatal prolapse?
The more stable and "slow" the air pressure is, the more stable the palatal is, together with a resonable high CPAP pressure?
It seems that EPR and Bilevel will only increase palatal prolapse, as the palatal is moving more when EPAP and IPAP is different?!
RE: Palatal prolapse and V-COM
Hi Stubert.
I have palatal prolapse, and i use VCOM.
Never thought how it could be affected by VCOM, going to look thru my charts and will let u know here and/or the thread i include below.
But i want to give you a link to a thread we have going on for VCOM which might get you more replies if you post there.

Also, what i have learned is that with PP you definitely should NOT fully mouth tape!
The pressure has no where to go which can make things much worse.
If you do happen to tape your mouth, make sure there is an opening that allows you to 'mouth puff' , which is exhaling thru mouth when your nose is plugged, especially due to PP.
