[CPAP] ResMed AirSense 10 makes loud noise when inhaling.
RE: ResMed AirSense 10 makes loud noise when inhaling.
RedneckSavant, there have been a number of Resmed devices that have a bad motor that makes a distinctive noise. Resmed has typically honored its warranty and replaced or repaired these machines with a new motor (pneumatic block) at no cost for machines less then 3-years old. If you received your Airsense 10 through a DME supplier, all you need to do is let them know you have this problem, and it should be exchanged. Here is another current thread where this is an issue for one of the most advanced Aircurve ST-A devices. Read down about 5 posts. https://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread...#pid489269

RE: ResMed AirSense 10 makes loud noise when inhaling.
So, this is about the infamous whistling and whirring noise on the Resmed Airsense and Aircurve 10 machines.

I know this is an old thread, just wanted to add my results as anotheer data point, with regard to changing the motor.  It's been one night, but it was as silent as a church mouse the entire night. The old motor was dirty. Maybe that was it? I don't know.  New motor can be found easily for $90+.

It's not really a hard job if you follow the video instructions on YouTube very carefuly, patiently and mindfully. The key is to be as gentle with the various components as you can. Don't force anything. The Aircurve is basically identical physically to the Airsense.

Took about 45 minutes.
