Full face mask vents
I've been using a Phillips Amara View for years but they've just been recalled and taken off use. I've been given an F&P alternative but the issue I'm having is that the Amara vented upwards and this vents downwards. Being a woman of a certain age I sleep out of the duvet and I'm getting no sleep as the air is freezing my arms and chest. Sleep clinic have asked me to do some research and find one I think will be suitable but on product descriptions it doesn't mention which way the vent expels the air. Can anyone advise of something minimal like the Amara View that doesn't vent downwards and freeze my arms and chest please?

RE: Full face mask vents
Perhaps the best answer is to call a supplier such as Supplier #1 above and speak to them about this. The number is 1-800-356-5221.
Masks are one area of their expertise. As well meaning as other users' posts may be, I doubt that they have the breadth of expertise.

Thanks. I will if I don't get any super positive posts about anything really good.

RE: Full face mask vents
I am curious to see what they recommend. I use a ResMed AirFit F30i, but it has the same issue of venting too low, though it has the advantage of the hose exiting on the top of the head. But the non-i F30 vents at the elbow with a check valve arrangement and is similar to the Amara View as far as the cushion. It looks like the same vent as the F20, so I have been thinking of trying it myself. Please post a review of what you end up with!

Here, we tried the F&P Vitera. That one vent straight in front of you. Search for it on Google image and look at one : you will see the vents right on the nose, pointing forward.

RE: Full face mask vents
the Amara recall is only really relevant if you have some kind of implant that can be affected by a magnet, right? Resmed issued a press release for their devices rather than recalling them: https://www.resmed.com/en-us/cpap-mask-m...guidelines
The magnets on our Resmed masks are noticeably weaker than the ones on the Philips masks, so perhaps that's the difference. |
