'AHI numbers too high
Hi Forum members,
I am looking for advice regarding my high AHI numbers. I average AHI numbers from 12 to 30 over the past year. I have tried several types of masks to decide if it was the masks. I talked to my CPAP doctor after he reviewed my SD card and suggested I raise my min/max numbers from 6/10 to 6/14. After a month on these new pressures, it did nothing to lower my AHI. I contacted my doctor again and he raised them to 10/14. This also did nothing to lower my AHI. I then changed them myself to 11/16 and noticed a slight improvement in
AHI. I also tried a new mask from my nasal mask to the RESMED AirFit F10 and it was a failure. I could not get the F10 adjusted properly for a good nights Sleep. If anyone out there has any suggestions, please help. I am very frustrated and envy those of you who are able to enjoy AHI numbers below 5. I might keep raising my min/max numbers, but want to be careful not to go overboard.
RE: 'AHI numbers too high
Okay. What kind of events are you having? Post the image from a typical night. We need to see the graphs for flow rate, leak rate, and pressure. Include in the screenshot the data on the left.

You can also use Imgr or some other image site such as photobucket. You won't be able to enter then link though. Put it in and remove the http:// part. Myself or another Moderator can fix it for you. Others can just copy/paste the link into another window to see it in the meantime.

Yes, your AHI is too high. Do you look at your data on SleepyHead? Can you tell us what your 90% pressure readings are, and the breakdown of your AHI readings, like Obstructive, hypopneas, clear airways? What is your leak rate?
If you have a lot of clear airway events and raise pressure too much, you may cause that number to increase.
RE: 'AHI numbers too high
I copied my Sleepyhead stats below. I am just starting to use Sleepyhead and apologize if this copy is hard to read.

RE: 'AHI numbers too high
You should be able to send us a screenshot of your latest stats. From the daily page, not summary.
Include Event graph, flow rate graph, pressure graph, leak rate graph.
Include stats to left of graph: Total AHI, and all info below that. You can get rid of calendar and pie chart to get it all in.
Elimate right side bar.
Paula, post #2, gave you a link to show you how.
You are limited as a new user, so just send the latest day.
