RE: ResMed AirFit N30i
I've been using the N301 for a couple of weeks now and thought I would leave some my thoughts.
Absolutely love the top of the head hose connection and quick disconnect. So much better than having a hose coming from the nose to the tube, especially for us side sleepers.
The cushions are very soft and fit very well without any discomfort.
The headgear is also comfortable (I use Resmed headgear) with soft lining on the side to reduce any discomfort.
I am having issues with mouth leaks, but that's not a function of the mask. I have tried nasal masks, pillows and now the cushions and I don't see me switching from these. High recommend and give 5 stars to.
RE: ResMed AirFit N30i
I have just given up on the P30i after using it for 3 weeks.
The top of head mount requires a foot of extra hose length and it's not anywhere as easy to adjust as the Swift FX which is unavailable, so they are swapping it out for a P10, which of course has issues with the sagging of the rubber head straps far too quickly but is otherwise very comfortable.
The Swift FX let you adjust the head diameter and then uses a strap to snug it to the back of your head (and any velcro strap will work). The P30i has no way to adjust other than the corrugated tube flex and requires more of a fore and aft maneuvering to get a good fit and by tightening the side straps.
This mask at also needs (or would benefit from) the little flex hose from the main hose to the mask instead of the main hose direct connection which could reduce the weight on the mask, and it does not have that either nor any way to add such a hose. Even worse with the slimline tubing even though the slimline has less mass, because it's too stiff.
RE: ResMed AirFit N30i
I like the fit of the P-N30i and it's strap. However, One issue I have found was when using EPR.
EPR always lags a little bit behind your breathing. So on EPR when I finish an inhalation and start exhaling. You actually start exhaling at the higher pressure and just a moment later the EPR kicks in and the pressure suddenly drops. So it creates a rebound effect. I can hear it and especially FEEL it with the hollow bouncy silicone frame.
And it is a bit off putting. It can also show up in the oscar charts when you first go to bed and cause one to think. What the heck is the problem with my breathing and should I be worried about it.
