Can anyone tell me if the F40 medium is the exact same distance between the nose as the F30? I mean with calipers and feel

RE: ResMed F40 Full Face Mask (* new *)
The F30 medium was just a touch to tight on my nose. By morning my nose feels pinched.

Although I haven't yet used my F40 overnight, I have tried it on several times and made some adjustments. I was using an F30 (Medium) and the F40 feels pretty much the same under my nose.
I have a mustache and that can complicate things a bit, in regards to the mask sliding around a bit, as in back & forth.

F 40 is all silicone and vert soft- it's like hardly anything on your face. It has great suction and it sals fairly well. I wore the F 20 and F 30 and enjoy the F 40 the most .

When it comes to materials, silicone has a relatively short service life. It tends to age quickly, turn color, and become less pliable.
I don't go overboard washing my cushions, and I'm careful with harsh soaps. I have plenty of extra cushions on hand for my AirFit F20 and F30 masks. If I like my AirFit F40, I will stock up on it's cushions as well.

My problem is the side to side across the nose pinches in the F30, I was hoping the F40 might be a tiny fraction wider or have thinner material so the pinch is less

Do you change the silicon cushions once a month?

I couldn't stand the new cushion more than a couple of nights and the widest part of my nose has red dots and hurt. My insurance provides cushions on the recommended change interval
RE: ResMed F40 Full Face Mask (* new *)
I had a good experience with my new mask last night. I used it the whole night (8.5 hrs.) and my "Events Per Hour" was 0.3
I haven't seen it that low in quite some time. From what I could tell, I had no air leaks and the cushion sealed very well and was comfortable enough. For a first night of use, I'm pretty happy with it. No problems with any straps coming loose. The magnets seem to be just as strong as the ones on my F20 and F30. |
