Question
I’m new to the board and using a CPAP machine. I’ve been trying to acclimate to my machine by using it in the evenings - 40 to 50 minutes. I have not been able to use it while sleeping at night. I’ve noticed I’m feeling nauseous after using the CPAP machine. Has anyone else experienced this?

RE: Question
I can feel nauseous if I'm experiencing aerophagia (air in my intestines/stomach). Are you also experiencing that? Could you further describe your symptoms at all?

RE: Question
Hi DBauer,
Welcome to Apnea Board! Are you experiencing discomfort (bloating) or pain in your stomach or chest area? That would be what is called Aerophagia (the swallowing of air). As far as a nauseas feeling, you're the first I've heard say that. It's not unusual for some to take longer to adapt to Cpap use. I suggest that you keep trying to use it in the evening "sitting up" reading or watching tv for at least an hour. The time will fly and you'll find you're not noticing it so much. Be sure you have a SD card in your Pap machine while using it. Eventually, when you managed to sleep with it, we will want to see some data to gauge how you are doing. If you haven't already, order a Clinicians manual for your machine: https://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap-p...tup-manual
