Day 1 using the BMC G3A20 CPAP machine I got from my brother.
Without FOT, I fall asleep easier and wake up less during the night.
AHI today is 1.0, slightly lower than that when I was using the S9. I slept for 6.5 hours and woke up feeling very refreshed this morning.
I have some doubts about products made in my country because of news related to food and medical safety, which is why I decided to buy the S9 back in March. Maybe I should have more faith in local products. ResMed's A10 or A11 models are too expensive for me to afford, but even the S9 is about $100 more expensive than this machine in my area.
Comparison formatted by Chatgpt:
Price:
S9 Autoset: More expensive by about $100 in my location.
BMC G3A20: More affordable.
Performance:
S9 Autoset:
ERP (Expiratory Pressure Relief) is smoother and better.
Includes the FOT (Forced Oscillation Technique) feature, but it cannot be disabled, which I find annoying.
Water tank design is superior, but I don’t use humidifier at all due to laziness.
BMC G3A20:
ERP feature is less refined and somewhat annoying, but it can be turned off. It can cause the mask to shrink and expand.
Can stop therapy automatically when detecting a leak.
Overall performance feels better than the S9 Autoset.
Also experience from my brother using my resmed S9:
"I did't feel the vibration on the mask."
"Yesterday, it seemed like every time I moved, there was a slight air leak, and the noise kept waking me up. But when I checked the sleep data after waking up, it didn’t show that I woke up many times. I’m not sure what went wrong."
"With my own machine, there’s also some air leakage, but I’m using the small nasal pillows that only cover my nostrils, so air leakage happens quite often."
That's all for day 1.
