ResMed S10 Autost SD Card
Hi,

i just purchased a new S10 machine to replace my DreamStation Auto. It did not come with a memory card. I will buy a card.

What is the maximum capacity card that can be used in the S10?

To the best of my knowledge, 32GB is the largest SD card that is normally usable, but they are getting hard to find in my neighbourhood.

I beliee CrimsonNape has used a 64GB card by formatting it as 32GB usable. I'm not sure how he did that.

You need a SD card with a recognizable file allocation table. My Resmed S10 Autoset came with a "Resmed" 4GB card. It uses the FAT32 file allocation table, the same as the largest ones available. Wikipedia says FAT32 can support up to 16TB or 16000 GB. My machine uses about one GB per year. If I had to replace my card, I would get the least expensive one I could find, which would probably be 16 GB.

I used a free program under Linux named, GParted, to resize the SD card.  Before replying, I looked to see if there are any options in Windows 7 to resize the SD card.  Windows will only allow hard disks to be resized.   GParted does offer a live USB image, here is the link: https://gparted.org/liveusb.php

A word of caution: Be very careful and certain of your actions when using this program. You can turn a very nice PC into a boat anchor at the press of a button.

RE: ResMed S10 Autost SD Card
The last card I formatted I inherited from my husband, who had been using it as the system disk for an arduino controlling a detector. I was curious to see what the machine would do if I put the card in there without wiping it -- it actually didn't wipe the disk, just added its files to the bunch. (and I promptly ran out of disk space!)

So I reformatted the disk as FAT32, put it back in the CPAP and it wrote all of its file system out on the disk. I then dragged all of the files from my computer's backup of the disk onto the flash drive and it was happy as a little clam. Oh, and this was one of the little tiny disks that fits inside an SD-card-sized adapter.

A ResMed machine seems to be pretty cool with using whatever disk I've put in there. If I were to have a problem with a disk that was too large I would just partition it. As Crimson says, you can use GPartd. I have a mac so I used DiskUtility (you'll find it in the /Applications/Utilities folder). A mac might be easier to find.

Just to add that the max size you can use is 32 GB because 4-32 GB uses SDHC architecture. 64+ GB is called SDXC and that's what's not supported.

Thanks to all for your suggestions. I think I've found a suitable card locally.
