And that is just so necessary to make sense of the data.
also, I'm not sure why I would even bother to download/install the ResScan software as OSCAR is just about perfect/so well thought out.

I don't think you should. If you don't need ResScan, I wouldn't recommend it.
But some compliance requirements can only be met by the Resmed software (for example, my insurance company and DME won't accept OSCAR data for compliance purposes). They will only accept ResScan or AirView.
In addition, many sleep techs / docs will simply turn their nose up at any OSCAR reports and only have discussions around the ResScan reports. They consider ResScan to be "authoritative" since it comes from the manufacturer and because they are familiar with it.
For both of those reasons, some folks are in the position of needing ResScan even if they find OSCAR far superior.
Sleep techs / Docs that can be coaxed into looking at OSCAR reports may also cast doubt on OSCAR charts if there is a significant difference from ResScan (like the pressure statistics discussed above). Again, this is because they view ResScan as the authoritative source. Being able to logically explain WHY a particular statistic is calculated differently by OSCAR can prevent them from doubting the entirety of OSCAR reports.

do you know if OSCAR truncates data from the Smart Device Assistant spo2 data? I sometimes get strange data that I think is caused by start up.

RE: ResScan 7.0 now available!
Super sleeper,
THANKS! FANTASTIC! I almost did not get airsense 11 because resscan 6 didn't work.
BIG QUESTION -- Is there a way to get the DATA from CPAP and the cloud DIRECTLY into resScan, WITHOUT using the SD card to transfer it. THe DOCS must be able to do this...
Happy Holidays Steve
RE: ResScan 7.0 now available!
No, you need to use the SD card. I'm told that even doctors can't get the flow data from Resmed over the air (they only get events and AHI).
There are, however, ways of setting up a wifi SD card to automate the download from your CPAP to your computer. Search for "FlashAir" on the forums.
RE: ResScan 7.0 now available!
ResScan needs the SD card data. Resmed has an entirely different product, AirView, for Docs/DMEs to access the data sent via cellular (and my understanding is the same as @sawinglogz, in that the over-the-air data is "summary only" without detailed flow data).
AirView can also read the SD card data, and based on the Resmed literature, has some ability to plot detailed charts. But I haven't seen it "in operation" myself, so can't compare its capabilities.
Hopefully we will get our hands on a distributable copy of AirView at some point in the future to test. I'm personally concerned that since its primary focus is the online data, the program may require a Resmed DME/Clinic account and server authentication to launch at all -- which would preclude anonymous use even with SD data. We won't know until we get out hands on it.
RE: ResScan 7.0 now available!
AirView is a cloud-based system that doesn't have a stand-alone package for PCs currently:
https://www.resmed.com/en-us/healthcare-...t/airview/
Even if you want to try and register for an AirView account, you have to already have an established ResMed account number, and I'm pretty sure you'd have to be an established doctor or DME to get that account, and they do verify everything before issuing account numbers.

Yes, cloud based -- but there *is* some form of PC client. The bottom of the page you linked defines "Hardware Requirements" as a Windows PC, with browser and Java, and (optionally) an SD card reader for downloading from SD card. It also lists Microsoft Excel as a requirement, so they must be using some templates/macros there to analyze and/or display some of the data.
I suspect the client always requires a login with a DME/Clinic account, regardless. And what it does with the SD card data is unknown -- perhaps it can analyze/display it locally, or perhaps it only uploads to the cloud and all analysis/charting is done there.
I look forward to someone with "hands-on" access to AirView telling us more about it. Since it accommodates both "over-the-air" and SD card data, I initially suspected Resmed was positioning AirView as a replacement for ResScan, at least for future devices. But they subsequently released ResScan 7 with support for the AS 11 series so perhaps they intend to maintain both.
RE: ResScan 7.0 now available!
I have downloaded ResScan 7.0. It works with my old AirSense 10 but not my new AirSense 11. I get connect a flow generator or data card and try again. Any suggestions? Thanks
RE: ResScan 7.0 now available!
Hi Jack.Hill! -
As far as I know, we are unable to obtain the version required for the AS11. I would suggest that you try
OSCAR. The latest version supports the AS11.
