On the Philips Respironics, if using Auto Tritration, then the biggest use of Mask Resistance is that the Leak will be reported as "net," (actual leak minus expected leak), instead of "gross" (actual leak). The auto tritration will find its own level to keep the mask at proper level based on breathing.
