Is this even working? (CPAP Data Frustrations)
#11
RE: Is this even working? (CPAP Data Frustrations)
Typically I'm a stomach sleeper actually. Last night (the bad one) i tried on my back though, and that seemed much worse. Never a side sleeper.

And yes, quickly read wiki on scc and look very promising. Amazon order will be here friday!

And honestly i find the report quite confusing. It seems like in titration2, the table at the bottom presents AHI as 10, but then they call out AHI #/Hr as 1.5. I thought AHI was typically already a "per hour" basis. I'm an engineer and I can't figure out what these units are, so I really don't know how non-data-centric people are supposed to read these reports. I see AHIs of 10, 1.5, and references to the diagnosis study of 5 (which was performed Feb 2023 at home.

And yes, CAs were the initial concern of my doctor and a driving factor in getting the titration study done.

Your sleep report was much more thorough than mine, but it was a bit confusing. My sleep doctor said engineers make some of his worst patients. He shortly retired afterwards.

Not sure if i should make a new post or continue here.

I started wearing my garmin watch at night as well to track SpO2.

Night of the 18th, pressure set to 10-18. AHI 3.99. Seems to not need pressure higher than 14. SpO2: Low - 85%, Avg - 95%

Night of the 19th. Used the soft cervical collar. AHI up to 8.09.  SpO2: Low 90%, Avg - 95%

Night of the 20th, wife started coughing so i got kicked out of the bedroom. No cpap. SpO2 Low - 87% Avg - 93%

Night of the 21st, moved to guest bedroom with CPAP. pressure 10-18, wearing scc AHI 3.95. SpO2 - 91%, Avg - 95%

Interesting anecdote about the guest bedroom, in that it is my old mattress, much firmer than our current ultra deluxe plush mattress that my wife loves. I feel very "sinking" into it, which leads me to believe there is something to the neck bending, chin tucking theory.

Any other recommendations? Or just ride this out for a bit? The scc is quite uncomfortable and i think is going to take some getting used to. The higher pressure isn't my favorite either. It was nice to just sleep without anything on the 20th, but i understand from the spO2 readings that this is clearly not an option.

Thanks!
