Resmed S9 36037A vs 36037
Would somebody be able to explain the difference between the ResMed S9 ASV VPAP model 36037A vs 36037?

AFAIK they are the same, I take it yours has the 36037A on the label?
I just bought one and the machine and box has the a after the number. I haven't seen anything to indicate otherwise. I think it's just how the product code is written sometimes. I've seen it said as 36037 in various places.

For auto-cpap, from machine data or software. You can set the min pressure 1 or 2cm below 95%. Or clinicians commonly use the maximum or 95% pressure for fixed pressure CPAP, this can also be used for min pressure. https://aasm.org/resources/practiceparam...rating.pdf

Additional difference is my model 36037A had software SX474-1301 but the new model 36037 has software SX474-1300. Again I wonder what is the difference?

Mine was year 2014 and SX474-1301. So I'm at a loss why a later model has what seems an earlier software number? I think this will take an email to resmed to sort out.

Some of the older models has a CDMA modem in them instead of GSM. Could it be that? It should say in system info.

My DME provider contacted ResMed and emailed me the following explanation: Quote:I'm a software engineer and have never seen the newer software going forth and back in the version numbering nor can I see any rational justification for such a scheme.Quote:"I looked it up and called the manufacturer. Though it does not make sense, 1300 is newer that 1301. 1301 came out in July 2013. And 1300 came out in September 2013. It had to to with the LCD screen only and did not effect any other component of the system. for the most, they are the same software. "

It sounds like a story, both yours and mine were made after september 13 and have the 1301 SW.
logic is telling me the 1300 is earlier. what are the 3rd and 4th numbers in the serial number of the machine? as you know, that's the year of manufacture

The 3rd and 4th digits are "14" in both S9 VPAP's indicating the production year 2014. Machine1 model 36037A was delivered 5/2016 (firmware x1301), machine2 model 36037 was delivered 7/2017 (firmware x1300). Therefore the facts do not support my DME providers story?

RE: Resmed S9 36037A vs 36037
As a retired programmer, I can see a situation where the lower numbered version could be more up to date than a higher version. It may or may not apply in this case.
We have a defect that must be fixed... Here's a solution, call it version 1300, It's a 'perfect' fix, but it will take time to work out the details... Can we find a 'quick' fix, possibly incomplete? Call it version 1301, and push it out the door... Finally finish off 1300 and release it to production. There you go... Of course, I have no insight into Resmed's software processes.

My 36037 2215 (22= made in Australia, 15= made in 2015) has SW 1301.
I suspected a lower lot number meant earlier manufacture date within the same year, but I can't verify that. What country was your 36037A made in? |
