RE: Returning To Therapy with Startling Results
OK-Made it through night 3 but switched from the Amara full face to my old trusty Swift FX Pillows mask and got a bit more sleep. I began with the Amara and could AGAIN not get it to stop leaking...after about 2 hours of that misery I switched and went right to sleep. FINALLY. I may return it but just found out that even with the insurance I paid I still have to pay return shipping at Seller #1 is seems so unsure what I will do with this darn it. I really want a good full face but how to stop the leaks eludes me so far.

If I'm looking at your chart right I think you actually did better leak wise with the Amara.

RE: Returning To Therapy with Startling Results
Getting the leaks under control should be a priority. Try to figure out if it is the mask, or are you simply mouth breathing while using the Pillows mask. If so, you can try a "soft" cervical collar. That helps to keep your mouth/jaw from dropping open.
The grayed out area on your graph shows where the leaks occurred. We still are not seeing the statistics from the left sidebar. All you have to do is organize the main graphs we need to see: Keep Events graph at the top, flow rate, pressure and leak rate. Also, keep the left sidebar with the stats listed. Once the "daily page" is organized, hit the F12 key and that will take a screenshot of that page. This is usually stored on your computer under Documents. Go back and look at the example of the daily page and how it should look. I am attaching a link to The Beginners Guide to SH which explains how to do this. Also many members here have links under their signature line on how to organize the daily page. http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php...SleepyHead

Just got out of bed to respond and fell right over and feels like I got myself another instant sinus problem in just ONE night with the darn Swift II again. I LOVE that mask and it is the one that made me able to stick with Pap last time, but also the one that destroyed my sinus. I have some type of vertigo going on like I never experienced before and can't even stand much less think. I just posted the stats part alone IF I picked the one yoiu refer too? If I did, it is at: https://imgur.com/a/3dHsk For now, heading back to bed. But sadly, untethered. This is a nightmare, I thought the numbers were a huge improvement and last night I wore that Ultimate Chinstrap that locks my jaw UP and even covers my entire mouth. I swear I thought I had NO leaks. Oddly the Resmed shows ZERO leaks as well???? Man I am lost. My data hopefully is at: https://imgur.com/a/3dHsk That chinstrap that makes it impossible to mouthbreath (I thought?) is at: sleep apnea solutions Commercial Link Removed. I swear, wearing that thing is HELL on Earth but I am trying SO hard I thought it didn't matter, would do what it takes. But seems I am going down the tubes since now I am 100% out of it with my head feeling like fresh poured conrete.... -----

RE: Returning To Therapy with Startling Results
The AHI did improve a bit and I think it's because of the EPR being lowered. Unfortunately, I am unable to read the data you posted, it isn't clear to me at all. Mabye someone else can.
I understand your not feeling well, so when you have time, please reread this thread. Possibly, I haven't given clear enough direction on what we need to see. See my post #16 above for an example: http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-...#pid221484 When you are looking at your #SleepyHead results, you will see at the top: Welcome, Statistics, Daily and Overview. Click on the "Daily Page", then you will see a Screenshot like the one in Post #16. It's easy enough to move the graphs around. We need to see all of that in order to advise. Wow, that chinstrap looks like it should have stopped any possible mouth breathing. I don't know for certain if that was it, but you were using a nasal pillow mask, so I'm assuming it was mouth breathing. Looks like you had better results with the Amara View. Would like to be able to help you. Try again with the Screenshot.....you can do it!

Like it or not you have got Vets working for you here. Nothing like you went thru but I've done 30 degree rolls at 600 feet, and I've been depth charged (French ASW games only they didn't know we were there and we were not participating). How's that for a Cold War Vet.

RE: Returning To Therapy with Startling Results
You definitely have Complex Apnea, but you already knew that. It's possible you will need an ASV machine. Don't feel bad about buying an Apap, many folk make that mistake without realizing that it cannot treat Central Sleep Apnea. And the Opioids may be contributing to the Cental Apnea.
My advise to you is to use your insurance coverage, or see if the VA can help. You would have to talk to your doctor and have documentation that you failed Cpap use. It can be a long road to acquiring an ASV machine, and your going to need a prescription. You normally have to fail Cpap and Bipap, before an ASV if going through insurance. SleepRider gave you very good advice (post #2) on trying to return the Apap. See if they will work with you. For now, untill you decide what the best road for you is, I recommend turning the EPR to off. It may not make a difference, but worth a try.

How's that for a Cold War Vet. Yeah, well you couldn't DRUG me enough to get in a Sub. The irony was always my fascination with them, the glamor if you will. Plus I LOVE sneaking around:-) But under water, or in the jungles, they seem to always find ya....Think I will stay above the water line. So I can breath. Oh wait. I can't can I? Bad day!

But any chance you could lie so I don't panic? I already have 2 emais and a chat request from the #1 online people but they don't make exceptions I am told. And I can fully understand that. I suppose if I asked to sell it to #2 or even ask to "trade it in" to #2 my brand new $883.00 machine would likely net me around $250.00 or so? Have to be honest, I am literally SICK inside, even throwing up a couple times from nerves. This is another dumb question, but do BiPa units have any better ability, or ANY ability at all to treat my complex/central Apnea? And on another note well sorta, how long can a 68 year old live I wonder, without ANY treatment with this? But then my dingbat keeps crying...geez, this is a MESS.
